I tell stories from the saddle, the road, and the in-between—capturing raw moments with refined intention.

I'm Heather—the lens, the boots on the ground, and the heart behind The Wild Edit.

Before this chapter, I was the creative force behind Kiss and Makeup—one of the first lifestyle boutiques to blend apothecary, skincare, and slow fashion long before “curated” became a buzzword. I’ve always been drawn to the art of the edit—products with purpose, pieces with soul.

The sea is in my blood, and the Pacific Northwest is my playground. I’ve sailed from Alaska to Costa Rica—stopping in Hawaii at thirteen, navigating latitudes before I even knew what “adventure” meant.

My love of all things equine began young, watching my older siblings take riding lessons. I’ve been a horse girl—and a big dog girl—ever since. Animals, wild places, and weather-worn freedom have always shaped how I move through the world.

With a degree in Human Kinetics from UBC and a lifelong fascination with skincare, scent, and science, I created House of Hecate—a line of coastal alchemy for skin, spirit, and space.

At 45, standing at a zero-point reset in my life—and for the first time, I’m chasing the work that keeps me up at night—in the best way. It feels a little wild to be starting again... but really, I’m not. I’ve been doing this my whole life—quietly collecting rituals, chasing light, capturing beauty in motion.

And The Wild Edit? It’s the natural evolution of everything I love. A visual journal born from years behind the lens—first on film, now in the field. After a lifetime of capturing instinctive, in-motion moments, it's time to share the stories carried in my camera roll and etched in salt, dust, and sun.

about me

My lens is shaped by the rhythm of remote travel—capturing what can’t be staged, only discovered.
